Well, I don't particularly need it - I'm fine without one, it's just that I like to know what applications try to access the internet (to stop lame auto-updater things).

Previously, using Zone Alarm on 32 bit versions of Windows, but the last I heard, Zone Alarm doesn't work on x64 Windows.
I recently tried Comodo, but it's really annoying (keeps asking whether to allow svchost.exe when it's try to resolve domain names - keeps asking even though I've placed it in the trusted zone etc etc).

So does anyone have a recommendation?  I don't really need anything fancy, just one that can display alerts when an application tries to access the net, allows blocking, and assigning trusted applications. (basically, ZoneAlarm was fine for me).

Many thanks in advance :)
try ESET Security Suite 64-bit. I like it!
Norton Internet Security 2008 « one I'm using
I never liked Norton... te last I used it, it used up a lot system resources and simply refused to uninstall... had to manually remove keyes and stuff. Never evn bothered with it after that. ESET made NOD32. Enough said.
i use default firewall for my 64-bit

the question is
are there any decent partition managers for 64bit systems
I guess almost all partition managers support 64 bit. I know for one the Paragon Partition Manager does!

http://www.start64.com/

a good site for x64 softwares.
fortknox firewall is very good.
Thanks guys.

Last time I had Norton (back in 2004) it installed more stuff than I wanted (stupid Recycle Bin "recovery" - I never wanted that...) so I don't exactly have a good trust of it (though apparently it's memory usage has gone down).

I'll try the other two suggested - thanks!
