seems this morning my connection is fluxuating between 854kb/s-1mb/s
which is great since my normal max is 750kb/s

I have 256kb/s ADSL = max out at something like ~26KB/s. :(

Although I download most my stuff at the public library, which is T2 speed I think (25mbit).

The uni is much faster I think. It's retardedly fast, only problem being that there's a download quota.
